Clinical psychologist
This assignment focuses on providing psychological support to adults, children, and young people. There is a specific focus on flexible working hours, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate clients who are unavailable during the day, such as working individuals or school-aged youth. Part of the clientele comes through corporate programs set up for employers, including international organizations.
What you do
As an independent clinical psychologist or orthopedagogue, you will guide clients, depending on your expertise:
- For adults, this often involves stress and burnout, anxiety and mood disorders. Workplace well-being and reintegration form a significant part of the work.
- For children and young people, it concerns adjustment after a relocation, academic difficulties, anxiety, and developmental questions, often in a multilingual context.
You work within an evidence-based, cognitive-behavioral framework, in the practice or online within a blended care model. Additionally, there are tasks you choose yourself, to be agreed upon in mutual consultation and in accordance with your interests:
- Developing treatment plans
- Diagnostics, including developmental questions such as ASD and ADHD
- Parent consultations and family guidance
- Guidance for reintegration after illness
- Workshops and training on mental health
- Contributing to the further development of the practice
- Tasks or guidance within the framework of research activities
What they ask
- Master's degree in clinical psychology
- Visa and recognition from the Federal Public Service Health
- Registered or eligible for registration with the Psychologists Commission
- Very good knowledge of French
- Good knowledge of Dutch
- Self-employed status (main or secondary occupation), or willing to start one
- Willingness to work at least one evening per week or a Saturday morning
Preferences.
- Preferably 5 years of clinical experience
- Experience with cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), systemic or relationship therapy, integrative psychotherapy, or primary psychological care (ELP)
- Interest in workplace well-being
- Experience with blended care
- Possibility of neuropsychological research
