An organization is looking for a Project Manager Engineering to coordinate projects of various sizes from A to Z.
- The role involves acting as a link between external engineering partners, internal teams, and other stakeholders, ensuring that technical projects are delivered according to agreed timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
- Approximately 10 to 15 multidisciplinary projects are managed annually, ranging in value from several hundred thousand euros to projects worth several million euros.
- This requires simultaneously managing various projects and stakeholders, maintaining an overview, setting priorities, and intervening when planning, budget, or technical execution deviates.
- Direct reporting to the Manager of the Project Department.
What you do
- Monitor project aspects from preparation to execution.
- Manage and follow up on external engineering companies.
- Establish project schedules and monitor progress.
- Diligently follow up on deadlines and actions.
- Monitor total project costs and expenditures.
- Identify possible deviations and adjust where necessary.
- Ensure projects are realized according to the set timing.
- Critically assess project content with sufficient technical background.
- Check technical documentation for conformity with specifications, procedures, and legislation.
- Monitor the technical quality of delivered documents and work.
- Discuss technical points of attention with engineering partners and internal stakeholders.
- Ask critical questions when technical choices or solutions require it.
- Maintain smooth communication with internal and external stakeholders.
- Coordinate with engineering partners and other involved parties.
- Ensure clear expectations, agreements, and deadlines.
- Monitor the integration of different disciplines within the project.
- Report on progress and points of attention.
What they ask
- Experienced technical project manager who takes responsibility for complex industrial projects.
- Master's degree in Engineering or equivalent by experience.
- Senior experience within a technical environment, with at least several years in project management.
- Experience in leading multidisciplinary technical projects.
- Strong skills in planning, budget monitoring, and project coordination.
- Good knowledge of engineering codes, technical guidelines, and relevant legislation (e.g., PED and ATEX).
- Strong technical interest and a healthy critical attitude.
- Autonomy to actively follow up on projects and stakeholders.
- Very good knowledge of Dutch and English.
- Experience in refining and/or petrochemical processes is a plus.
