As an AI Solutions Engineer, you will contribute to an organization's AI program. AI is not an experiment for this organization, but a strategic program with direct support from management. You will be part of the AI Center of Excellence and work closely with other AI engineers, process owners, key users, and colleagues from Data & BI, integration, and security, among others.
Your role is hands-on and business-oriented: you understand processes, translate opportunities into solutions, and build them into production yourself. You will work in a modern Azure AI environment, primarily with Python and additionally with TypeScript or JavaScript. You will not only develop new applications but also ensure that solutions are scalable, maintainable, reusable, and demonstrably valuable.
What you will do.
- Further develop an internal AI platform that allows colleagues to securely use LLMs, agents
- Design, build, test, and deploy AI agents and agentic workflows that automate and accelerate business processes
- Gather and refine AI use cases with process owners and key users, including assessment of feasibility, impact, business value, and return on investment
- Translate business questions into a functional and technical design and then into a working, production-ready solution
- Set up model routing, fallback, and load balancing via LiteLLM to Azure AI Foundry and Google Vertex AI, among others
- Monitor quality, availability, response times, usage, and costs with evaluation frameworks, regression testing, monitoring, logging
- Build standards, architectural patterns, reusable components, and documentation within the AI Center of Excellence and actively share knowledge with IT and the business
Profile
You are an experienced software engineer who enjoys building, experimenting, and improving. You quickly create a working prototype but also know what is needed to make software safe, stable, and maintainable. You seek out the business, ask the right questions, and always keep the intended value in mind.
What they ask
- HBO or university level of thinking and working, preferably in computer science, software engineering, AI, or a comparable technical field
- Extensive relevant work experience as a software engineer
- Strong knowledge of Python and experience with TypeScript or JavaScript
- Experience with cloud-native development, preferably within Azure
- Affinity with AI agents, LLMs, and workflow automation. Specific work experience in AI is not a strict requirement; personal projects and a strong interest in the subject explicitly count
- The ability to elicit requirements, understand processes, and translate a use case into a working solution
- An analytical, pragmatic, and curious way of working, combined with clear communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Good command of Dutch and English
Nice to have.
- Experience with Git, Terraform, IaC, SQL, C#/.NET or YAML
- Knowledge of, for example, agent frameworks, RAG, vector databases, Model Context Protocol, LiteLLM, Azure AI Foundry, Google Vertex AI
