Manage all contractual matters related to groundbreaking scientific research.

The research contributes to societal issues such as the digital society, health, climate research, and energy transition.
Funding primarily comes from government subsidies and national and international research partners.
Ensure correct contractual agreements for substantial amounts.
Collaborate with scientists in setting up research projects.

What you do

First point of contact for research leaders regarding the legal processing of new contracts and legal issues.
Advise researchers effectively and appropriately.
Involved in agreements with the EU, the national government, public organizations, consortia, and companies.
Pay attention to intellectual property, liability, applicable law, and publication.
Negotiate contract content to align with the organization's policy.
Consider subsidy conditions.
Ensure dossiers are legally complete and provide signing advice.
Maintain legal and administrative order of affairs.
Consult colleagues from various disciplines, such as legal experts, IP and subsidy experts, and finance and HR colleagues.
Collaborate with a valorization team.

What they ask

University-level legal education.
Preferably extensive experience with (international) contract negotiations.
Knowledge of and/or experience with national and European subsidy programs and/or intellectual property is a plus, or willingness to learn this quickly on-the-job.
Eager to learn and open to discovering the academic environment with its diverse interests and administrative relationships.
Curious about scientific research in beta and technology fields.
Taken initial career steps in a legal and organizational role and eager to develop further.
Stress-resistant and able to maintain an overview of multiple concurrent dossiers.
Work structured in ad-hoc situations, able to relativize well, and focused on concrete results.
Pleasant and expert discussion partner with advisory power.
Excellent Dutch and English, both spoken and written.
Team player who is open to personal development and that of colleagues.

Salary based on Scale 11 of the Collective Labor Agreement for Dutch Universities (between €4925 - €6682 gross per month based on 38 hours).
Possibility of initial placement in entry-level scale 10 (€3546 - €5538 gross per month) if the desired level is not yet met.
