Forensic Psychiatric Counselor

What you will do.

• You will be at the heart of the forensic treatment process.
• You will work in an admission, treatment, or resocialization department.
• You will guide patients with psychotic vulnerability, personality disorders, and other complex problems.
• You will gain insight into the different treatment phases and develop your expertise within forensic psychiatry.
• Together with colleagues, you will create an environment where patients can practice different behaviors.
• You will look beyond the offense and the diagnosis; you will see the person behind the patient.
• With your commitment and expertise, you will contribute to a treatment that helps them safely return to society.
• In this role, you are more than just a counselor: you are a stable factor, a motivator, and a key figure in the patient's life.
• Together with a multidisciplinary team, you will work on behavioral change, safety, and perspective.

What they ask

• A completed education such as social work, social care, nursing, or similar at HBO or MBO 4 level.
• Preferably experience in forensic psychiatry and working in a team.
• You can assess risks, are proactive and strong in communication.
• You can reflect well on your own actions.
• You are proficient in the Dutch language, both written and spoken.
• You are available for irregular shifts (day and evening) and weekends.
