Spatial Development Officer Planning Advisor
The Spatial & Environmental Development team works daily on a livable, future-proof, and sustainable organization. We are involved in the spatial development of our environment and ensure that plans, initiatives, and projects are carefully weighed and executed. Our activities range from guiding environmental permits and creating spatial plans to supporting area developments and advising on policy in the fields of housing, sustainability, and mobility.
We work closely with residents, entrepreneurs, developers, and other partners within and outside the organization.
What you will do. As a spatial development officer, you will be responsible for carrying out activities in the field of spatial development and planning. You will ensure the necessary decision-making in the executive board or municipal council, prepare for this, and advise the alderman and the board on these matters. The assignment consists of the following activities:
- Spatial planning assessment of concept applications, deviation, and exemption requests
- Assessment of spatial procedures and deviations from the Environmental Plan
- Contributing to changes in the Environmental Plan
- Integrated advice to the board on spatial developments
- Communication with initiators and other stakeholders
- Coordinating advice from other policy areas in spatial developments, including alignment with permit issuers
- Contributing to the implementation of the Environmental Act
Profile
The professional works independently on matters within the team and participates in regular substantive team and portfolio holder meetings. You will perform activities in the field of spatial development and planning. You will assess the spatial planning consequences of applications and support the implementation of the Environmental Act.
- Consultation with applicants for building plans and their advisors
- Participation in team meetings
- Supporting colleagues in the field of spatial planning
- The contractor will assess whether structural presence at the client's office is necessary to limit travel kilometers
- The contractor will provide correspondence and advisory products digitally as much as possible
- If advisory products need to be delivered in hardcopy, these documents will be printed double-sided and on sustainable paper as much as possible
What they ask
- Minimum 1 year of demonstrable work experience in a comparable role in a comparable government organization (approximately 25,000 inhabitants)
- Demonstrable completed education at a minimum of HBO bachelor level
- Minimum 3 years of demonstrable work experience as a spatial planning officer or planning advisor within a government institution
- Demonstrable knowledge of the Environmental Act
Preferences.
- Demonstrable completed education at a minimum of HBO bachelor level in the field of spatial planning or geography
- Minimum 5 years of demonstrable work experience as a spatial planning officer at a government organization
- Demonstrable work experience with project-based work
