Area Coordinator

GelderlandOn site16 hours/week>12months

A government organization is working on connecting major societal and spatial challenges in the fields of housing, water, agriculture, nature, mobility, energy, and economy. This contributes to a future-proof design of a specific region. You will be part of a regional team and collaborate with specialists from thematic programs. In this role, you will form the link between regional initiatives and water management programs.

You will ensure that regional ambitions, interests, and developments converge into a joint approach for the river areas. You will work at the intersection of spatial development, water safety, nature, and economic development, and make a significant contribution to administrative coordination and decision-making.

What you will do.

  • Create insight and overview of spatial developments and decision-making that influence the river areas within the region.
  • Develop a process by which the province, the regional office, and municipalities provide the right input at the right time within water management programs.
  • Connect and concretize regional tasks around the upper reaches of a major river, including through design-oriented research and stimulating cooperation between involved parties.
  • Identify spatial tasks in a specific gateway region and prepare agreements with the national government on opportunities, preconditions, and cooperation.
  • Ensure a perspective for action in inland areas where water safety challenges and other spatial developments converge.

Profile

You will work closely with the area manager and the leaders of other main tasks (urbanization, agriculture). You will be accountable for progress and coherence with other tasks in the work plan. Together with a program manager, you will form a tandem. You will also collaborate extensively with a project leader and program team for a split-point area and the secretary of an administrative platform. You will work under the leadership and supervision of the regional manager.

You will be part of a regional team and participate in team meetings. Your activities will be part of regular operations.
