Director Supervisor Public Space

The activities consist of directing and supervising work within public spaces. The focus is on cables and pipelines, maintenance of paving, the use of public spaces, and traffic diversions. The director/supervisor oversees the execution of these works and monitors the agreements made. Additionally, the director/supervisor supervises work carried out for a flood protection program. These activities take place within public spaces and require careful coordination with the execution and the various parties involved.

An important part of the role is monitoring the quality of the execution. The director/supervisor ensures that work is carried out in accordance with the agreements made, the established planning, and the applicable quality requirements. The deployment consists of approximately 50% work in the field of cables and pipelines and maintenance of paving. The remaining 50% of the deployment consists of project work related to a flood protection program.

This assignment therefore combines regular work within public spaces with work arising from ongoing projects. It concerns an embedded function with continuous core activities under leadership and supervision within a municipal organization.

What you will do.

• Supervision of the execution of work within public spaces, including compliance with agreements and planning
• Monitoring of quality and compliance with applicable quality requirements
• Coordination and alignment with the execution and involved parties for a flood protection program
• Maintaining contacts with contractors, utility companies, and other involved parties
• Supervision of traffic diversions and the use of public spaces during execution

What they ask

• Demonstrably completed education at a minimum of HBO bachelor level
• Minimum of 3 years of demonstrable work experience as a supervisor and/or director within civil engineering projects or public space activities
• Demonstrable work experience as a point of contact and discussion partner for utility companies and other external parties within civil engineering activities
• Demonstrable work experience within a municipal organization
• Agreement with the stated secondment condition

Wishes.

• Demonstrably in possession of a VCA VOL certificate
• Demonstrable knowledge and experience with RAW specifications and/or the RAW system
• Demonstrable work experience with sewerage projects, pressure sewerage, wastewater, or rainwater drainage projects
• Demonstrable work experience within flood protection program projects
• Demonstrable work experience with maintenance work on roads and asphalt pavements
