Practice Assistant Internship Coordinator Medicine

A public educational institution is looking for a practice assistant for the Assistant Academic Staff of the Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy.

What you will do.

  • Support and replace the internship lecturer.
  • Regularly organize discussions with students.
  • Act as a contact person for external institutions.
  • Responsible for the practical organization of internships outside the university hospital:
  • Guide students during their internship.
  • Act as an advisor for students regarding their internship.
  • Take on an ombudsman role for interns in case of conflicts.
  • Monitor the quality of clinical internships.
  • Conduct regular discussions with internship supervisors.
  • Investigate potential new peripheral internship services in consultation.
  • Take on the same tasks for incoming external students.
  • Responsible for the organization of internships for incoming external students:
  • Coordinate the distribution of internship places across various departments (within and outside the university hospital).
  • Act as a contact person for external institutions.
  • Participate in a specific exchange program as an exchange coordinator for the medicine program.
  • Contribute to community service, outreach, and recruitment activities.

What they ask

  • Master's degree in Medicine.
  • Extensive experience in guiding medical students during their clinical internships.
  • Insight into the professional field.
  • Existing contacts with internship departments and supervisors in other hospitals are an advantage.
  • Appointed for at least 80% as a medical specialist in a university hospital.
  • Excellent knowledge of Dutch, both spoken and written.
  • Good communication skills and an enthusiastic attitude.
  • Strong organizational skills and experience with practical coordination of educational activities.
  • Quality-oriented, integrity, and collaborative.
  • Endorses the educational vision of the institution.
  • Language requirements: CEFR level C1 for the language of instruction (Dutch). An integration trajectory for Dutch (B2 level) will be provided if necessary, to be achieved within 5 years.
  • Meet the conditions for obtaining a valid permit and residence conditions.
