Water system information coordinator

North HollandHybrid36 hours/week6-12months

A water authority works on clean water, safe dikes, and a climate-resilient water system. Reliable, up-to-date, and complete information about assets is indispensable for this. As a Water System Information Coordinator, you ensure that information from projects, changes, and management processes is controlled, transferred, processed, and made available.

You are the first point of contact for information issues within the water system and the connecting link between projects, asset management, operations, data management, document management, and IT/ICT. You manage information flows, monitor quality and coherence, and ensure that bottlenecks are addressed. In doing so, you constantly look at how data deliveries can be made smarter, more unambiguous, and, where possible, digitally supported or automated.

What you will do.

  • Coordinate information requests, data deliveries, processing, and publication within the water system.
  • Set up and guide the information transfer between projects and the management organization, from intake to transfer and inclusion in the management registrations.
  • Assess deliveries for completeness, consistency, traceability, metadata, and processability, in conjunction with content experts and managers.
  • Coordinate with IPM teams, clients, asset managers, technical managers, and administrators on information requirements, delivery times, responsibilities, and acceptance.
  • Prioritize and coordinate data and document management activities and monitor progress and dependencies.
  • Identify shortcomings in information flows and work processes and initiate structural improvements.
  • Develop and implement practical products and working methods for data delivery, information management, and quality assurance.
  • Promote the unambiguous use of agreed standards, processes, and digital facilities, including CDE, GIS, and EAM environments.
  • Contribute to the further professionalization of information coordination, BIM/Systems Engineering, and data-driven asset management within the organization.

Expected results.

  • Project and management information for the water system is transferred in a timely, complete, and demonstrably controlled manner.
  • Information is processable and findable in the designated registrations and aligns with operational asset management processes.
  • Roles, agreements, quality criteria, and delivery times are clear to involved parties and are actively monitored.
  • Bottlenecks and quality deviations are transparent, addressed, and lead to structural process improvements where necessary.
  • Data and document managers have a clear, prioritized workload and appropriate content instructions.

Your position. You will work within the Asset Advice & Information Management team of the Programming & Asset Advice department. Functionally, you will coordinate with the ultimately responsible information coordinator and with the asset managers for operational priorities. You do not have hierarchical leadership but provide content-related direction for information deliveries and guide the execution by data and document management.

Within the assignment, the focus is on the water system and the connection between projects and management.

Profile

  • You connect people and interests and make agreements concrete and actionable.
  • You communicate clearly, address stakeholders about agreements, and can well substantiate decisions.
  • You work systematically, carefully, and result-oriented, maintaining an overview in an environment with multiple projects and dependencies.
  • You analyze broadly, distinguish main and side issues, and translate bottlenecks into practical improvements.
  • You are enterprising and proactive and do not wait when information quality or progress is under pressure.

What they ask

  • Knowledge of and experience with BIM and information processes, preferably in relation to ISO 19650.
  • Good command of the Dutch language, both orally and in writing.
  • HBO (higher professional education) work and thinking level, preferably demonstrated with a relevant education.
  • Minimum of three years of demonstrable experience with information management, information coordination, or asset information within a technical or asset-intensive environment.
  • Demonstrable experience with coordinating data deliveries between projects and a management organization.

Preferences.

  • Knowledge of asset management and ISO 55000.
  • Experience with water systems, flood defenses, pumping stations, water infrastructure, or comparable public infrastructure.
  • Experience with GIS, EAM/Maximo, CDE systems, Object Type Libraries, Systems Engineering, or technical documentation.
  • Experience with improving, digitizing, or automating information flows.
  • Knowledge of data standards, information models, decompositions, and metadata.
