Youth Residential Counselor

You will guide young people aged 13 to 18 in their personal development, independence, and undertaking of activities. The young people receive 24/7 guidance so that from the age of 18, they can live independently in a reception center, their country of origin, or their own home.

What you will do.

• Organize (group) activities such as cooking, sports, or creative activities.
• If necessary, act as a shadow mentor for complex cases.
• Conduct methodical discussions with the young people.
• Perform room checks and provide information.
• Work closely with colleagues in morning, afternoon, and night shifts.
• Participate in regular meetings and intervision discussions.

What they ask

• Minimum completed MBO level 4 education (equivalent to a vocational qualification) in an agogic field (e.g., Social Work, Personal supervisor social care, Supervisor specific target groups, or Pedagogical employee).
• Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience.
• Knowledge of methodical guidance and intercultural communication.
• Availability for day, evening, night, and weekend shifts (night shifts are wake-up shifts).
