Project Management Officer

You will play a key role in the responsible deployment of AI within a faculty and a university-wide program. This position combines the coordination and implementation of AI within the faculty with activities within the university-wide program, offering a unique opportunity to directly connect developments with daily practice. You will form an important link between the faculty and the university-wide program.

What you do

As an AI Project Management Officer, you will help the faculty translate AI developments into a coherent, feasible, and responsible approach, with a strong focus on education. You will have a coordinating, advisory, and facilitating role.

  • Inventorying, connecting, and making visible existing and new AI initiatives.
  • Connecting stakeholders and supporting the faculty in setting priorities.
  • Preparing and executing AI policy, pilots, and implementation trajectories.
  • Being a central point of contact for AI within the faculty and monitoring progress, actions, decisions, and results.
  • Regularly coordinating with the vice-dean of education on priorities, preconditions, and next steps.
  • Translating university frameworks, guidelines, and developments into the faculty context.
  • Incorporating experiences, questions, and needs from the faculty into the further development of the program.
  • Contributing to an effective and responsible application of AI within the university.
  • Inventorying, connecting, and making visible existing and new AI initiatives within the faculty, with an emphasis on education and, where relevant, business operations and research.
  • Supporting the preparation, execution, and evaluation of AI pilots and implementation trajectories.
  • Contributing to awareness, knowledge sharing, and promoting the responsible use of AI.
  • Monitoring developments and progress and identifying opportunities, risks, dependencies, and necessary follow-up steps.

  • HBO or academic working and thinking level.
  • Experience with project, program, or change processes within a complex organization.
  • Experience with stakeholder management: knowing how to connect different interests and organizational units.
  • Affinity with AI, digitalization, innovation, and organizational change, and the ability to quickly grasp new developments and translate them into practice.
  • Good advisory and organizational skills and a sense of administrative and organizational relationships.
  • Excellent communication skills in Dutch (minimum B2) and English (minimum C1).

Preferences.

  • Experience within higher education, the public sector, or a comparable knowledge-intensive organization.
  • Knowledge of responsible AI use, privacy, information security, or relevant laws and regulations.
