Product Owner Travel Documents

Continuously respond to current events by improving the Travel Document Information Systems (ReIS). You ensure that these facilities can run securely on our platform, are available, and can continue to develop. The agile working method and your team of ICT specialists help you fulfill this dynamic role.

You are responsible for maximizing the value of the Application Development and Management team (AOB-team) and for managing, prioritizing, and maintaining the Team Backlog. This includes ensuring that a product is and remains secure, compliant, and serviceable, within the frameworks of security and regulations, among others. From your product vision, you determine a delivery sequence and maintain a product backlog. You play an important role in the execution and preparation of recurring PI events.

You are the connecting link between suppliers, Business Owner, Product Management, domain portfolio manager, Scrum Master, and the AOB or product team. You are accountable to the line manager (delegated Business Owner) for the products developed and managed and report on this.

What you do

  • Manage, prioritize, and maintain the Team Backlog based on priorities from Product Management
  • Translate features into User Stories that are ready for realization
  • Collaborate with the Agile team to establish acceptance criteria and validate delivered functionality
  • Actively participate in team and ART events including Daily Scrum, Backlog Refinement, Sprint Planning/-Review
  • Monitor progress on the team's PI Objectives and timely discuss deviations with Product Management, Scrum Master

Prepare and execute PI event:

  • Ensure a prioritized Team Backlog for PI planning
  • Elaborate Features into User Stories
  • Align business value and desired results with the Business Owner
  • Align prioritization and content of Features with Product Management and Epic Owners
  • Prepare concept PI objectives as a basis for PI planning
  • Prepare with the Scrum Master for PI planning regarding team capacity, risks, dependencies, and necessary preparations
  • During PI event: Present and explain Features, User Stories, and priorities to the team
  • Support the team during PI event in formulating realistic and measurable PI objectives

  • Values collaboration and connecting people and their interests
  • Knows how to persuade people when necessary
  • University level (WO) work and thinking ability, supplemented with at least 10 years of demonstrable work experience as a PO in a SAFe environment with multiple Agile Teams
  • Certifications such as Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO), Professional Scrum Product Owner I or II (PSPO I/II) are a strong plus
  • Experience with backlog management and prioritization, value and risk assessments, User Stories acceptance criteria and dependencies, and steering on PI objectives
  • Proactive attitude, strong analytical skills
