Do you want to work with a unique target group where communication, structure, and trust are central? In a residential group, you will guide adults with a hearing impairment and an autism spectrum disorder (ASD). No day is the same, but every day you make a visible difference. It is precisely the small moments of contact, understanding, and trust that ensure residents feel safe. The facility offers 24-hour care to adults with a communicative multiple disability (CMD), deafblindness, and/or a hearing impairment.
The five residential groups each have their own dynamic and support needs. For example, you will work with residents with an autism spectrum disorder (ASD), a mild to moderate intellectual disability, or additional visual, motor, or medical problems, such as epilepsy or diabetes. Residents need a safe, predictable, and structured living environment where their possibilities are central. You look beyond words alone and connect with the way each resident communicates.
You will use, among other things, gestures, finger spelling, and (Concept) Augmented Communication. The residential groups each have their own character, with an emphasis on independence, social participation, structure, autism, or intensive communication.
What you will do. As a caregiver, you work based on each resident's treatment plan. You provide structure, execute agreements, and are alert to signals. Your tasks include:
- ADL support (Activities of Daily Living)
- Adapting to the resident's communication method
- Guiding activities, such as cooking, walking, or discussing the news together
- Observing and responding to behavior and mood
Profile
- MBO care diploma level 3, or willingness to obtain it
- Affinity with autism or willingness to develop further in this area
- Willingness to work irregular shifts (evenings, weekends, holidays, and sleep shifts)
- Self-reflection and ability to deal with resistance or a resident's bad day
Practical
- An onboarding process where you get to know the target group and receive tools for working with communicatively multiply disabled residents
- Employment conditions in accordance with the collective labor agreement for disability care
