As a supervisor, you support clients with an intellectual disability who require extra guidance, care, or proximity in daily life. Depending on the location, you provide guidance to clients with behavioral, physical, or intensive support needs.
What you will do.
- You look beyond behavior alone and try to understand what someone needs.
- You respond to clients' needs with calm, attention, and clear guidance.
- Together with colleagues, you ensure a safe, stable, and familiar living environment.
- Support needs vary per client, for example:
- difficult-to-understand behavior
- autism or stimulus sensitivity
- physical limitations or aging clients
- need for structure, safety
- intensive guidance in contact, communication, or daily care
Profile
- Completed MBO level 3 or 4 education in care or welfare (e.g., MMZ, Verzorgende IG, or Begeleider Maatschappelijke Zorg).
- Experience in disability care, intensive care, mental health care (GGZ), elderly care, or youth care is a plus, but attitude and motivation are at least as important.
- Good social and communication skills.
- You are resilient and able to maintain calm in challenging situations.
Work context.
- You work with clients who have intensive support needs, for example in the areas of behavior, care, or complex guidance.
- Clients live in small residential homes.
- Each home typically accommodates 8 to 16 clients with similar support needs, allowing guidance and care to be well coordinated.
