For an organization, we are looking for an Engineering Project Manager who coordinates projects of various sizes from A to Z. You act as the link between external engineering partners, internal teams, and other stakeholders, ensuring that technical projects are realized according to agreed timing, budgets, and quality standards. Annually, you manage approximately 10 to 15 multidisciplinary projects, ranging from several hundred thousand euros to projects worth several million euros.
This means you keep multiple projects and stakeholders moving simultaneously. You maintain an overview, set priorities, and intervene when planning, budget, or technical execution threaten to deviate. You report directly to the Manager of the Project Department.
What you do
Project Management:
- From preparation to execution, you monitor the various aspects of your projects.
- You manage external engineering companies and follow up on their activities.
- You draw up project plans and monitor progress.
- You meticulously follow up on deadlines and actions.
- You monitor total project costs and expenditures.
- You identify possible deviations and adjust where necessary.
- You ensure that projects are realized according to the stipulated timing.
Technical Follow-up:
- You possess sufficient technical knowledge to critically assess the content of projects.
- You check technical documentation for conformity with specifications, procedures, and legislation.
- You monitor the technical quality of delivered documents and work.
- You discuss technical points of attention with engineering partners and internal stakeholders.
- You ask critical questions when technical choices or solutions require it.
- Knowledge of relevant engineering codes and legislation, such as PED and ATEX, is important.
Stakeholder Management:
- You maintain smooth communication with internal and external stakeholders.
- You coordinate with engineering partners and other involved parties.
- You ensure that expectations, agreements, and deadlines are clear.
- You monitor the integration of different disciplines within the project.
- You report on progress and any points of attention.
Profile
- A Master's degree in Engineering or equivalent by experience.
- Senior experience within a technical environment, including at least several years in project management.
- Experience leading multidisciplinary technical projects.
- Strong skills in planning, budget monitoring, and project coordination.
- Good knowledge of engineering codes, technical guidelines, and relevant legislation, such as PED and ATEX.
- A strong technical interest and a healthy critical attitude.
- The autonomy to actively follow up on projects and stakeholders.
- Very good knowledge of Dutch and English.
- Experience in refining and/or petrochemical processes is a plus.
