Leading the complete piping package within multidisciplinary capex projects. You are responsible for design, management, and monitoring of quality, planning, and costs. You work on (petro)chemical installations and translate client requirements into layouts, isometrics, and ordering specifications in AutoCAD and Plant 3D. The core challenge is combining integral piping design with team coordination and compliance.
You will work for an engineering firm that designs and realizes industrial (petro)chemical installations from multiple disciplines, including mechanical engineering, E&I, and civil engineering. Projects run end-to-end: from basic and detailed engineering to on-site execution. You will work in multidisciplinary project teams on concrete capex projects for production companies in the (petro)chemical industry, where safety, compliance, and continuity of production are central.
What you will do.
- Leading the piping part within multidisciplinary industrial projects
- Guiding, instructing, and motivating piping constructors and drafters
- Designing mechanical/piping installations for (petro)chemical plants
- Drawing up the program of requirements (PvE) for piping
- Drawing up layouts for pipe routes and equipment
- Drawing up isometrics and detailed drawings using AutoCAD and Plant 3D, among others
- Drawing up ordering specifications for piping components
- Maintaining technical contacts with clients and other stakeholders
- Monitoring planning and costs for all piping activities within the project
- Reporting progress and deviations to project management
What they ask
- Completed MBO education in mechanical engineering, engineering, or similar or equivalent
- Minimum 8 years of demonstrable experience as a Piping Engineer in the (petro)chemical industry
- Extensive demonstrable experience with AutoCAD, Plant 3D, and MS Office or equivalent
- Customer-oriented and flexible attitude, accustomed to switching between on-site and office work
- Results-oriented, stress-resistant, and analytically skilled
- Good commercial and communication skills towards internal and external stakeholders
- Knowledge of steam regulations and/or PED is a plus
- Good command of Dutch and English, both spoken and written
- In possession of both professional and business liability insurance
