Within a youth reception organization, you will work in a team where a good working atmosphere and close collaboration are important. Regular meetings and intervision discussions take place to ensure the quality of guidance. You will work at one of the reception locations, where the size and number of young people vary. A team consists of 15 to 40 employees, including youth workers, residential counselors, and behavioral experts.
What you do
You guide young people aged 13 to 18 who have often experienced significant challenges and need structure and regularity.
- You provide 24/7 guidance to the young people, with the aim that from the age of 18, they can live independently in a reception center, their country of origin, or their own home in the host country.
- As a dedicated counselor, you regularly conduct mentoring interviews with the young people.
- You maintain contact with external organizations and aid workers, such as the guardian, school, and general practitioner.
- You engage the young people and ensure a safe and livable residential environment.
- You are a visible point of contact for the young people.
What they ask
- A relevant HBO or WO diploma (Social Work, MWD, SPH, CMV, Teacher Training, Pedagogy, Psychology, or another diploma within Social Sciences).
- You are registered with a relevant professional body or have the possibility to obtain this registration within two years.
- Availability for day, evening, night, and weekend shifts (night shifts are always waking shifts).
- A relevant MBO diploma combined with a relevant professional registration is also possible.
Preferences.
- Work experience in youth care, mental health care, within a care institution, and/or social work.
