Air Emissions Researcher
East FlandersHybrid38 hours/week<3months
Do you want to work as a researcher on one of the most current challenges within agriculture? And are you looking for a position where scientific research, practice, and policy directly converge? Then this vacancy is definitely for you!
- Within the Agrotechnology research domain, the Environmental Technology group focuses on air emissions from livestock farming, such as ammonia, particulate matter, nitrous oxide, methane, CO₂, and odor. The reduction of emissions is currently a particularly relevant research topic: how can agricultural businesses further reduce their emissions and which techniques work in practice? To answer these questions, we develop and refine measurement methods, research and test sustainable agricultural techniques, and build calculation models for emission inventories. In this way, we build scientific knowledge that helps both agricultural practice and policy.
- As a researcher, you will join a multidisciplinary team of researchers, research support staff, and technicians, working at the intersection of practice-oriented research and policy support. The Environmental Technology group participates in regional and European research projects. The position offers an excellent entry into research work, where you can thoroughly delve into the subject matter, gradually build expertise, and take on increasing responsibility.
