The People & Culture and Facilities Unit provides strategic and operational People & Culture support to enable organisational performance, employee wellbeing, talent development, diversity and inclusion, and a positive workplace culture. The team works closely with managers and staff across the organisation to ensure that people-related policies, processes and practices contribute to the mission and strategic objectives of an international development organization.

The Business Partner People & Culture reports to the Manager People & Culture and Facilities and works collaboratively with P&C specialists and support colleagues. As Business Partner People & Culture, you are a trusted advisor to managers and staff. You provide both strategic and operational guidance on workforce planning, organisational development, employee relations and people-related policies.

Acting as a bridge between management, employees and P&C specialists, you help ensure that people solutions are integrated, consistent and aligned with the organization's values and Feminist Principles.

What you do

  • Advise and support managers on People & Culture matters, including workforce planning, organisational development and talent management
  • Lead and coordinate annual formation planning processes, ensuring alignment with organisational priorities, budgets and workforce needs
  • Analyse workforce data and provide evidence-based recommendations on staffing, organisational structure and resource allocation
  • Act as a key liaison between managers, employees and specialised P&C functions, ensuring integrated and effective solutions
  • Support the implementation and application of the Collective Labour Agreement (CLA), People & Culture policies and employment practices
  • Monitor compliance with Dutch labour legislation and organisational policies, ensuring consistent and fair implementation
  • Contribute to employee engagement, diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives, fostering an inclusive and high-performing workplace culture

Profile

  • Experienced People & Culture professional who combines strategic thinking with a hands-on approach
  • Able to build trusted relationships, influence stakeholders at different levels and to translate organisational needs into practical people solutions
  • Enjoys working in a complex and mission-driven environment and is committed to fostering an inclusive workplace culture
  • Master's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organisational Psychology, Employment Law or another relevant field
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in a comparable HR Business Partner or People & Culture advisory role
  • Strong knowledge of Dutch labour law and employment practices
  • Proven stakeholder management, relationship-building and influencing skills
  • Strong analytical, organisational and critical thinking capabilities
  • Ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment and to promote diversity, equity and inclusion
  • High level of discretion and confidentiality when handling sensitive employee matters
  • Good oral and written communication skills in Dutch and English
  • Valid permit to reside and work in the Netherlands
