In a Livability, Supervision, and Enforcement team, advisors handle many different enforcement cases. This involves not only looking at the actual enforcement case but also the political and administrative sensitivity involved.
What you will do.
- Provide solicited and unsolicited legal advice on enforcement cases and the legal review of a decision
- Draft orders subject to penalty/administrative enforcement orders and associated collection decisions
- Handle objections, appeals, higher appeals, and preliminary injunctions, and represent the organization before the objection committee and court hearings
- Identify, analyze, and advise on the consequences of new/amended national legislation and local regulations
- Co-develop policies and ordinances

What they ask
- Minimum of a completed HBO (higher professional education) degree in Dutch law
- Minimum of 3 years of recent work experience in a similar role within a medium-sized municipal organization
- Knowledge of administrative law (Awb) and experience in handling objection and appeal procedures
- Knowledge of the Omgevingswet (Environmental Act) and a minimum of 3 years of experience with the former Wet algemene bepalingen omgevingsrecht (Wabo) and associated decisions
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to clearly convey complex legal matters
- Competencies: results-oriented, decisive, independent
- Demonstrable recent work experience with administrative law enforcement issues within the physical living environment, including at least enforcement in the field of environmental law
Preferences.
- Experience in providing solicited and unsolicited legal advice on enforcement cases and the legal review of a decision
- Experience in drafting orders subject to penalty/administrative enforcement orders and associated collection decisions
- Experience in handling objections, appeals, higher appeals, and preliminary injunctions, and representing the organization before the objection committee and court hearings
- Experience with a medium-sized municipal organization in Midden-Brabant is a plus
Practical
- Due to the Wet Deregulering Arbeidsverhoudingen (DBA Act), an independent professional cannot apply directly for this assignment
- Application is possible through a secondment company that submits the offer and plays an active role
- Another option is to be employed by a secondment or payroll company that submits the offer
