Project Manager physical domain

Work on complex projects in the physical domain within an IPM context to contribute to a future-proof city. The engineering bureau of a government organization is looking for project managers to fill three roles: general project manager, environmental manager, and contract manager.

What you will do. Project Manager (General).

  • Integral management of one or more projects within the organization's engineering bureau.
  • Steering on project goals, planning, finances, risks, quality, and collaboration.
  • Connecting technical, organizational, and administrative interests effectively.
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary project teams and a broad network of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Leading an IPM team or independently managing various project aspects.

Environmental Manager.

  • Identifying internal and external stakeholders and gathering their wishes and requirements.
  • Ensuring the safeguarding of wishes and requirements in all project phases and proactively addressing environmental influences.
  • Developing accessibility, road safety, and communication plans.
  • Working closely with other IPM role holders for technical elaboration.
  • Ensuring planning and legal conditioning.
  • Being the linchpin in communication with the competent authority and negotiation with stakeholders for binding agreements.
  • Obtaining all necessary permits.
  • Intensive collaboration with colleagues within the organization and external parties.

Contract Manager.

  • Formulating a procurement strategy.
  • Preparing contracts, tendering, and execution towards market parties.
  • Managing the contract (contract monitoring).
  • Realizing the contract within project frameworks (scope, planning, budget, quality, risks, information, organization, and policy objectives).
  • Leading and initiating role in contract management for the engineering bureau.
  • Working with UAV contract forms and exploring innovative contract forms (UAV-gc).
  • Intensive collaboration with colleagues within the organization and external stakeholders.
  • Close collaboration with general project managers, technical managers, and official clients.

What they ask Project Manager (General).

  • Eager to learn, proactive, and hands-on.
  • Sufficient attention to coherence and complementarity between sub-projects and team members.
  • HBO or WO education in a technical or related field (e.g., technical business administration, public administration, civil engineering).
  • Work experience within public space and managing multidisciplinary projects.
  • Knowledge of/affinity with the IPM model and associated roles.

Environmental Manager.

  • Broadly deployable environmental manager with knowledge of public space.
  • Strong personality who knows when to be flexible and when to stand firm.
  • Results-oriented, sharp analytical ability, strong negotiation skills.
  • Enjoys teamwork, easily makes contact, communicates clearly (verbally and in writing).
  • HBO or WO work and thinking level (preferably Spatial Development, Planning, or civil engineering).
  • Knowledge of managing (sub)projects in an urban environment.
  • Legal and planning knowledge of procedures and permits.
  • Knowledge of/affinity with the IPM model and associated roles.
  • Strong communication skills.

Contract Manager.

  • Broadly deployable contract manager with deep knowledge of contract management.
  • Excellent portfolio as a contract manager of complex projects in public space within an IPM team.
  • Strong personality, inspiring, and able to engage people in new developments.
  • Minimum HBO+ with a completed relevant education and solid relevant work experience or a completed WO education.
  • Extensive experience (> 10 years) with UAV and UAV-gc contract forms.
  • Experience with contract forms such as alliances and building teams is a plus.
  • Experience with project management is a plus.
  • Knowledge of/affinity with the IPM model and associated roles.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical ability, coupled with good negotiation skills.
  • Enjoys working in a team, good interpersonal skills.
