Peace Officer Investigator
Within the framework of the law of May 15, 2007, you are responsible for prevention missions aimed at increasing citizens' sense of security, preventing public nuisances, incivilities, and delinquency in the municipal territory. Your presence in public spaces is reassuring and promotes conviviality. You observe, record, and transmit all useful information to the competent services or persons with the aim of improving everyone's quality of life.
What you do
- Conduct patrols in public spaces and on the surface network of public transport.
- Ensure a deterrent presence to prevent conflicts between people, including non-violent intervention in cases of verbal conflicts in public spaces that do not require the use of force.
- Report security, environmental, and road problems to the competent services (coordination unit for peace officers, municipal services, police services, etc.).
- Secure the crossing of children, schoolchildren, disabled, or elderly people near schools.
- Provide surveillance during events (co-)organized by public authorities.
- Raise citizens' awareness about preventing risky behaviors.
- Inform and/or guide citizens according to their requests.
- Ensure compliance with current municipal regulations in public spaces and remind people of the rules in force to prevent incivilities and offenses.
- Record infractions of the General Police Regulations (incivilities and stopping/parking).

- Have knowledge of the legislation concerning the role of Peace Officer, the General Police Regulations, and the Municipal Administrative Sanctions.
- Languages: French / Dutch (holding the "Travaillerpour" certificate is an asset).
- Be able to use a smartphone and IT tools (Calendar/Messaging – Word – Internet – FixMyStreet – PDA and SAC software).
- At least one year of experience in one of the following sectors is an asset: prevention, social work, private security, public reception.

- Be able to provide a criminal record extract meeting the requirements of the law of May 15, 2007: Criminal record extract model 596.1-16 for the Peace Officer function: Not having been convicted, even with probation, of a correctional or criminal penalty consisting of a fine, community service, or imprisonment, with the exception of convictions for violations of road traffic regulations.
