You work with a vulnerable target group, often coming from homeless situations. The goal is to support them in taking the first step towards appropriate care, stability, and participation in society.
What you do
You guide participants struggling with addiction and psychological vulnerability, often from desperate situations, homelessness, or trauma. You work in a shelter where participants start their trajectory. You guide them step-by-step towards the set goals, in line with recovery plans drawn up by your colleagues. You contribute to:
- Developing skills, such as independent living and household tasks.
- Increasing self-reliance, for example in the area of substance use, structure, and self-care.
- Participating in society, through social contacts and appropriate daytime activities.
You collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including a case manager, a nurse, support workers, caregivers, and volunteers. The shelter offers temporary accommodation to people from the region who do not have a fixed residence and cannot be placed in regular institutions. The ultimate goal is for participants to move on to an appropriate care facility and participate as independently as possible in society.
Profile
- You have completed a relevant MBO4 education (Social Work, MMZ, Personal Supervisor, SPW, Nursing, etc.), or are almost finished with your education.
- You are willing to listen and value building personal connections.
- You are resilient, able to work independently and collaboratively in a driven team.
- Irregular shifts are not a problem for you.
- You are a Christian (Catholic, Protestant, or otherwise) and can explain what that means to you.
