As a DevOps Engineer for event streaming, you ensure that data flows, which is crucial for decision-making within a government organization. You will work in a department committed to supporting colleagues with equipment, supplies, and IT. You will lead the setup of a generic platform for event streaming (async APIs) within the API Exchange & Enablement Services Team. You will work Agile and follow the DRY principle.
What you do
- Deploying and scaling broker clusters, configuring topics, replication factors, and retention policies with IaC.
- Building, testing, and rolling out broker images for rolling upgrades without downtime.
- Automating manual tasks to accelerate onboarding, development, and deployment processes.
- Contributing to the improvement of technical processes, workflows, and best practices within the team.
- Actively collaborating with other developers, designers, and service managers.
- Developing new functionalities and improving work processes via API/Events.
- Daily monitoring and maintenance of services.
- Testing and debugging applications to ensure quality and reliability.
- Maintaining documentation for developed solutions and technical processes.
What they ask
- HBO Diploma or MBO4 diploma with demonstrable HBO work and thinking level via assessment.
- Minimum 5 years of work experience as a Software Engineer and/or DevOps Engineer.
- Minimum 5 years of experience with Java and Python or similar programming and scripting languages.
- Experience with Event-brokers such as Kafka and/or Pulsar.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Gitlab-CI), Ansible, Terraform.
- Experience with Cloud technology such as Kubernetes, containerization, and orchestration.
Preferences.
- Experience with Workflow (e.g., Kestra, N8N).
- Experience with Data pipelines.
- Experience with Agile/SAFE.
