The Public Space Management department of a government organization is looking for a tree advisor/work preparer for trees.
- You will be part of the Green, Sports, and Play team.
- Together with the team, you ensure that the outdoor space is maintained at the desired level by performing timely and frequent maintenance.
What you do
- Translates established management plans and maintenance contracts into concrete activities.
- Prepares work descriptions.
- Ensures that contractors perform work in accordance with the contract.
- Translates results of tree safety inspections (BVC) into necessary measures.
- Applies for permits for felling municipal trees.
- Assesses emergency felling and/or other corrective tree maintenance.
- Prepares and assesses tree advice, including tree impact reports.
- Prepares and assesses reports on illegal felling.
- Provides substantive support and advice in legal processes concerning trees.
- Reviews public space design plans for management and implementation aspects.
- Supports data processing of information in the municipal management system Greenpoint.
- Prepares lists of measures for pruning and felling activities.
- Advises residents on handling complaints, reports, questions, or initiatives.
- Involved in handling specific technical matters, such as assessing private tree felling requests and purchasing plant material.

What they ask
- Minimum 3 years of demonstrable work experience in the past 7 years as a work preparer or green/tree manager within a government organization.
- Demonstrably in possession of a valid VCA certificate.
- An additional completed certification and/or training in tree safety.
Preferences.
- Demonstrable work experience with Greenpoint within a government organization.
- Minimum 3 years of demonstrable work experience in the past 7 years as a work preparer or tree manager within a government organization.
- Minimum 3 years of demonstrable work experience with recording additional and less work from contractors in landscaping.
