Absence Case Manager
Within an organization active in the retail sector, colleagues are of great value. Much attention is paid to good guidance, health, and sustainable employability. When a colleague is temporarily absent, a careful, human-centered, and professional absence management process is essential. As an Absence Case Manager, you play an important role in this by providing structure and overview, monitoring progress, and ensuring clear agreements. You encourage ownership among managers and employees.
You will be responsible for a fixed group of locations and independently manage your own caseload. Management is largely conducted remotely, in close collaboration with managers, HR Business Partners, the occupational health service, and other external partners. You are part of the HR Services team, specifically within the Vitality team, and together with colleagues, you support a large number of locations. There is a high degree of independence in organizing your work and managing your files.
The organization is fully developing in the field of vitality and sustainable employability, with a focus on vision, policy, leadership development, preventive interventions, and strengthening control within the absence process in the coming years.
What you will do.
- Guide absence files in accordance with the Gatekeeper Improvement Act (Wet verbetering poortwachter) and monitor deadlines, actions, and the quality of files.
- Encourage self-direction among managers and employees and prevent unnecessary medicalization.
- Advise and guide managers in their role and responsibility within the absence process.
- Coordinate with the occupational health service, company doctor, and other external partners, including around Sickness Benefits Act (Ziektewet) and WGA (Work and Income according to Capacity for Work Act) cases from our self-insurance.
- Analyze absence data, identify patterns, and convert them into improvement opportunities that contribute to absence reduction and sustainable employability.
What they ask
- HBO (higher professional education) working and thinking level and experience as an Absence Case Manager.
- Preferably, a completed "Regie op Verzuim" (Absence Management) training.
- Knowledge of or experience with self-insurance, Ziektewet, and WGA.
- An independent and decisive way of working, with the conviction to address managers when necessary.
- A keen eye for process, quality, and progress, allowing you to maintain an overview even with complex files.
- Energy and pragmatism: serious about ambitions, but also valuing enjoyment in collaboration.
Practical
- Willingness to work at the office at least three days a week.
- Ample opportunities for further development and growth, including the possibility to follow an Absence Case Manager training.
