This position involves a management role within an organization dedicated to the most vulnerable in society, driven by a social mission. The organization provides assistance to adults and children who need support in the areas of (mental) health, (protected) housing, finances, work, and upbringing. The specific location offers day and night shelter for homeless individuals with complex care needs, such as addiction issues and mental health problems.
The shelter facility offers capacity for a significant number of participants, with additional spaces during the winter months. The focus is on ensuring continuity and quality of care, combined with intensive guidance to promote the self-reliance of clients. Close collaboration is established with various external partners for an integrated approach.
In the coming years, a transformation assignment will be central to renewing and improving care at this location, in line with a broader approach to homelessness, including the introduction of innovative care models.
What you will do. As a department manager, you are responsible for the overall functioning of the department. Your tasks include:
- Monitoring allocated resources (personnel, finances, materials) and ensuring their optimal deployment.
- Leading the team and ensuring the professional development of employees.
- Coaching employees and conducting regular consultations, both individually and in groups.
- Maintaining contacts with external parties and chain partners.
- Ensuring that support to participants is provided according to indication agreements.
- Monitoring the quality and effectiveness of care and continuously striving for improvement.
- Result-oriented management of the department's KPIs.
- Developing and implementing policies.
- Following internal and external developments and integrating them into the work.
- Shaping changes and actively involving employees.
- Demonstrating a positive Christian conviction in behavior, serving as a role model within the team.
- Combining strategic insight with a coaching and connecting leadership style.
Profile
- Completed relevant HBO education (e.g., Social Work, SPH, MWD), preferably supplemented with a management education.
- Experience as a manager in the social domain.
- Willingness to perform on-call duties.
- A business-like attitude while maintaining a human-centered approach.
- Ability to provide a Certificate of Good Conduct (VOG) upon employment.
- A Christian conviction (Catholic, Protestant, or other) and willingness to discuss its meaning.
