Consultant Supervising Housing Supervision
Contribute to quality and safe rental housing. Contribute to the smooth running of administrative-organizational work processes and the good organization of the daily operations of the Housing Supervision department within a government organization. Together with a policy support consultant, you will follow up on (more complex) files and provide qualitative administrative support for the housing (supervision) policy, which is growing strongly and constantly evolving.
You will combine managerial responsibilities with operational tasks and work independently according to priorities and deadlines.
What you will do. Leading and organizing:
- Lead the administrative colleagues of the Housing Supervision team, coaching, motivating, and supporting them.
- Monitor workload distribution and pressure, and stimulate the professional development of your team.
- Ensure smooth daily operations by:
- Organizing (team) administrative meetings and participating in the monthly inspector's meeting.
- Developing, monitoring, and disseminating necessary procedures and reporting documents.
- Conducting collaboration discussions and providing bi-monthly individual consultations with your employees.
- Report to the Housing Supervision team coach.
Expertise and administrative support:
- Point of contact for a Flemish Housing Quality Desk (VLOK).
- Prepare and update letter templates when regulations change.
- Provide numerical reporting from the tool.
- Answer colleagues' questions.
- Develop (new) administrative procedures in response to changing regulations and efficiency gains, such as the integration of digital mail dispatch.
- Manage the Housing Supervision thematic mailbox.
- Dispatch applications in the context of the conformity certificate procedure or notification in the context of the unsuitability and/or uninhabitable procedure.
- Answer general questions and build domain-specific expertise.
- Handle files yourself as a file manager and follow them up administratively correctly according to applicable regulations.
- Process requests in the context of Passive Public Access to Government Information (POB).
- Provide structural reporting to the Finance unit regarding levies for housing quality inspections.
- Participate in various consultation moments (e.g., with Wonen in Vlaanderen, the VLOK pilot group, the Housing Inspectorate, etc.).
- Serve as each other's backup with the policy support consultant to ensure continuity.
