Construction Project Manager

The assignment involves integral project management from the completion of the Program of Requirements phase up to and including realization, delivery, commissioning, and aftercare of an integral child center. The construction project manager is responsible for managing and realizing the project within the established frameworks regarding time, money, quality, and organization. This is a temporary, project-based assignment.

The assignment is carried out independently, with the contractor being responsible for the method of execution and the result. It is possible to carry out the assignment with two people. The collaboration and governance align with the system customary for integral housing projects for education and childcare. The construction project manager is expected to master this complexity and translate it into an effective and feasible project approach.

What you will do.

  • Organizing, directing, and managing the entire construction process
  • Drawing up and monitoring an integral project plan
  • Preparing and guiding decision-making per project phase
  • Directing design and executing parties
  • Monitoring budget and foundation costs
  • Organizing and guiding tenders
  • Coordinating permits and necessary investigations
  • Guiding execution, delivery
  • Providing progress reports and final settlement

Profile

The project concerns the realization of an integral child center where education, childcare, and a facility for the neighborhood come together in one building. The new construction takes place at the current location, where the existing building will be demolished (circularly). During the execution of the project, temporary housing for the educational institution is necessary. In addition, the location and environment require careful coordination with users, residents, and municipal disciplines.

The project is characterized by:

  • collaboration between multiple partners (a government organization, school board, childcare, welfare organization)
  • integral considerations between design, exploitation
  • ambitions in the field of circularity and energy neutrality

You master the complexity of integral collaboration and translate it into an effective and feasible project approach.

What they ask

  • Minimum 3 years of demonstrable experience with construction project management
  • Demonstrable experience with the realization of child centers (both new construction and/or renovation), at least three reference projects. Temporary housing or renovation/small refurbishments are not considered suitable experience
  • Demonstrable experience with (supervising) and realizing multidisciplinary projects with multiple users
  • Demonstrable experience with sustainable and circular construction projects, including managing detachability, CO2 emissions, and biobased materials
  • Demonstrable experience with tenders and contract formation with, among others, architect, installation advisor, contractor
