Complex Security Officer

As a complex security officer, you contribute to peace and safety within a correctional facility. You alternate between working at the central control room and physically supervising detainees and visitors. This makes the role varied and unique. You are also part of the emergency response organization (BHV) and can join an internal assistance team.

What you do

  • Admit and register staff and visitors, while monitoring security measures.
  • Monitor isolation cells via cameras to intervene quickly in emergencies.
  • Escort detainees to appointments within the institution.
  • Supervise conjugal visits and conduct body searches afterwards.
  • Provide support during incidents, for example, disputes between detainees.
  • Ensure safety around the building.

What they ask

  • Demonstrable MBO 2 working and thinking level (assessed with an aptitude test).
  • Interest in security and the importance of a safe environment.
  • Remain calm during tensions and act clearly and respectfully.
  • Good physical and mental condition.
  • Some technical knowledge for security systems and cameras, or the willingness to learn this.
  • Good communication skills in Dutch.
  • Willingness to work irregular shifts (day, evening, or night shifts).
