As a socio-therapeutic worker, you help and guide patients with serious problems throughout their treatment process within a forensic psychiatric center. You are their first point of contact and help them find the necessary peace and structure. The work is challenging, and no two days are the same. You are there for the patients in your department, and for one or two of them, you are also the personal supervisor.
The clinic treats target groups with, among other things, personality and/or psychotic disorders and addiction care.
What you do
- Provide peace and structure around a fixed program of (occupational) therapy and rest moments.
- Facilitate daily activities, such as playing a game, watching TV, eating, or going outside.
- Conduct conversations, help where you can, and offer a listening ear.
- Involve specialists such as a psychiatrist, psychologist, spiritual caregiver, or head of department when necessary.
- Provide input for patient discussions with therapists and contribute to effective treatments and the next steps for patients.

What they ask
- An MBO 4 diploma in healthcare, for example, social pedagogical work, nursing, or similar.
- Minimum of 2 years of work experience within forensic care and/or mental health care.
