Community Guard Investigator
Within the framework of the law of May 15, 2007, you are responsible for prevention assignments aimed at increasing the sense of security among citizens and preventing public nuisance, uncivil behavior, and crime within the territory of a municipality. Your presence in public spaces is reassuring and conducive to conviviality. You observe, note, and transmit all useful information to the competent services or persons with the aim of improving everyone's quality of life.
What you will do.
- Patrol public spaces and the above-ground public transport network.
- Ensure a deterrent presence to prevent conflicts between individuals, including non-violent interventions in verbal conflicts in public spaces that do not require coercive measures.
- Report safety, environmental, and road problems to the competent services (coordination pool of community guards, municipal services, police services, etc.).
- Ensure the safety of crossing children, schoolchildren, disabled persons, or seniors in the vicinity of schools.
- Provide supervision during events (co-)organized by the public authority.
- Sensitize citizens to the prevention of risky behavior.
- Inform and/or refer citizens based on their questions.
- Monitor compliance with applicable municipal regulations in public spaces and remind citizens of the rules to prevent uncivil behavior and offenses.
- Record violations of the general police regulations (nuisance and stopping/parking).

- Knowledge of the legislation regarding the function of community guard, the general police regulations, and municipal administrative sanctions.
- Languages: French / Dutch (possession of the 'Werkenvoor' certificate is an asset).
- Ability to use a smartphone and IT tools (calendar/email – Word – Internet – FixMyStreet – PDA and GAS software).
- At least one year of experience in one of the following sectors is an asset: prevention, social sector, private security, public reception.

- Be in possession of the GHSO (level C).
- Be able to present a criminal record extract that meets the requirements of the law of May 15, 2007: Not having been convicted - even with probation - of a correctional or criminal sanction consisting of a fine, community service, or imprisonment, except for convictions for infringements of road traffic police legislation.
