Personal Counselor Mental Healthcare

Make a difference for people with psychological vulnerabilities and work with them towards recovery and independence.

  • Guide clients in their daily lives and personal development at a residential location and ambulant in the neighborhood.
  • You will have your own caseload and the freedom to work independently.
  • The residential facility houses adults with psychological vulnerabilities, some in on-site studios and others independently in the neighborhood.
  • The client group is diverse, with various cultural backgrounds, life stories, and support needs.
  • You will be part of a committed and diverse team that ensures continuity and appropriate guidance.

What you do

  • Be a key point of contact for clients.
  • Support them in their recovery, daily structure, and self-reliance.
  • Collaborate with the client on personal goals and treatment plans.
  • Your activities are varied:
  • Conduct supportive conversations.
  • Guide clients with practical matters such as finances, social contacts, daily activities, or resuming work.
  • Establish and monitor treatment plans and goals.
  • Conduct conversations with clients and their network.
  • Coordinate with colleagues and other involved disciplines.
  • Participate in meetings, intervision, and policy discussions.
  • Maintain contact with the client's network.
  • Provide support where necessary for daily matters such as eating, hygiene, and medication.
  • Carefully report and maintain client administration.
  • Ambulatory guidance: work purposefully and community-oriented, visiting clients at home.
  • Take a broad view of a client's situation, including psychological vulnerability, financial problems, housing, social contacts, or daily activities.

What they ask

  • Completed relevant mbo-4 or hbo education, for example, SPH, Social Work, MWD, or Nursing with GGZ specialization, or a comparable education (hbo level can be determined via an assessment for a completed mbo 4 care education).
  • Experience within mental healthcare.
  • Experience with or knowledge of setting up and implementing treatment or guidance plans.
  • Affinity with ambulatory guidance and an interest in learning about different support needs and situations.
  • Ability to work independently and actively seek collaboration with colleagues.
  • Empathetic, patient, and possess a strong sense of responsibility.
  • A respectful and recovery-oriented attitude, focusing on what a client can do.
  • Strong administrative skills and ability to handle various tasks and responsibilities well.
  • Willingness to work during the day, in the evening, and on weekends.
