A municipal organization is looking for a participation advisor to cover maternity leave. You will be responsible for strengthening, developing, and stimulating participation within the organization. You will support policy officers, project leaders, and management in designing and implementing participation processes, ensuring appropriate and meaningful involvement of residents and other stakeholders.
Additionally, you will be responsible for the theme of youth inclusion, stimulating and safeguarding that the voice of children and young people is included in municipal issues, policy development, and decision-making. You will fulfill a connecting role between the board, organization, residents, young people, and social partners. You will contribute to a participatory, inclusive, and future-oriented working method.
You will be the owner of a participation platform and responsible for its direction and further development, ensuring alignment with participation policy and stimulating its use within the organization. The activities are an integral part of regular business operations and require full integration into the team.
What you do
- Support policy officers, project leaders, and management in designing and implementing participation processes
- Be responsible for the theme of youth inclusion
- Fulfill a connecting role between the board, organization, residents, young people, and social partners
- Be responsible for the direction and further development of a participation platform, monitoring its alignment with participation policy and stimulating its use
- Maintain close contact with the website product owner for content placement
- Be a point of contact for shaping resident participation in challenges
- Be a strong advisor and discussion partner for the board, management, and the organization as a whole
- Identify developments in the field of resident participation and contribute to framework setting and policy development
- Contribute to the positioning of participation within the organization by maintaining close contacts with relevant internal stakeholders
- Organize participation training for colleagues and develop new participation instruments
- Collaborate with colleagues to further develop and strengthen opportunities to actively involve children and young people in municipal issues, policies
What they ask
- Completed education at a minimum of HBO bachelor level
- Minimum of 5 years of demonstrable work experience as a participation advisor
- Demonstrable work experience with setting up and guiding participation processes
- Demonstrable knowledge of relevant laws and regulations, including the Environmental Act (Omgevingswet)
- Demonstrable work experience within a municipal organization
Preferences.
- Demonstrable work experience with complex social and political-administrative issues
- Demonstrable work experience with participation within area development, social domain, or living environment
- Demonstrable work experience with change processes
- Demonstrable knowledge of participation instruments and digital participation platforms
- Demonstrable work experience with training and coaching employees in the field of participation
