You play a key role in the further evolution of a business-critical application landscape where operational systems, financial applications, CRM solutions, digital platforms, and external partners are closely connected. The organization is in a period of further digitalization and is looking for an architect who can provide an overview of the existing landscape and help shape the future integration strategy.
The focus of this assignment is on integration architecture, middleware, data flows, and application interaction.
What you do
Analysis of the existing landscape.
- Inventory applications, integrations, and data flows.
- Identify dependencies between systems.
- Map existing integration patterns and interfaces.
- Detect risks, complexity, and technical debt.
- Document architectural principles and integration processes.
Design of the target architecture.
- Develop a future-proof integration architecture.
- Define architectural standards and integration principles.
- Design API-, messaging-, and event-driven solutions.
- Advise on the positioning of applications within the broader IT landscape.
- Support digitalization and modernization initiatives.
Middleware & Integration Strategy.
- Evaluate existing middleware solutions.
- Advise on integration platforms and technology choices.
- Develop a scalable and maintainable integration strategy.
- Define guidelines around governance, security, and lifecycle management.
- Limit complexity and vendor lock-in.
Implementation guidance.
- Support technical teams and implementation partners.
- Monitor architectural guidelines during projects.
- Validate integration designs and technical choices.
- Act as a substantive sparring partner for business and IT stakeholders.
Profile
- Minimum 10 years of experience within Integration Architecture, Solution Architecture, or Enterprise Architecture.
- Strong experience with complex application and integration landscapes.
- In-depth knowledge of middleware, API management, and system integration.
- Experience with integration platforms such as Azure Integration Services, MuleSoft, Boomi, IBM Integration Bus, BizTalk, or similar solutions.
- Knowledge of event-driven architectures, messaging, and modern integration patterns.
- Experience with creating architectural models and target architectures.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Experience with stakeholder management at both business and IT levels.
- Fluent in Dutch and English.
Nice to have.
- Experience with ERP, CRM, and digital platform integrations.
- Knowledge of cloud architecture and hybrid environments.
- Experience with vendor selections and RFP processes.
- Knowledge of ArchiMate, TOGAF, or similar architectural methodologies.
