Sustainable Environment Researcher

Contribute to making sustainable living self-evident through thorough research.
- Delve into current issues within the sustainable living environment.
- Translate scientific insights into practical advice that people can truly use.
- Broadly deployable for many different subjects.
- Focus on research into what residents themselves can do to keep their living environment healthy and sustainable, for example, how to reduce PFAS, microplastics, or other harmful substances, or how people can deal with drinking water in a future-proof manner.
- Intensive collaboration with communication advisors.
- Utilize knowledge and input from relevant organizations, companies, and external experts.
- A scientific advisory board contributes ideas and provides advice.
What you will do.
- Primarily desk research.
- Write a well-structured report with clear calculations and sharp conclusions, and be able to justify it to a scientific advisory board.
- Keep abreast of developments for your subjects, agenda topics, and conduct research on new subjects or issues.
- Approach external experts where necessary.
- Keep the knowledge base up-to-date for your subjects.
- Be a substantive sparring partner for other researchers.
- Collaborate in multidisciplinary public information projects, where you are responsible for the content part.
- Be able to translate knowledge well into practical consumer advice.
- Check communication expressions for accuracy.
- Be flexible to 'look something up quickly' when an external party calls with a question, and at other times delve deeply into a new report.

- An experienced researcher with a natural science and/or environmental science background at university level.
- Translate a problem into clear research questions.
- Combine insights from various sources into conclusions and practical consumer advice.
- Account for research choices made and gain support from stakeholders (internal and external).
- Be well-informed about what is happening in your field.
- Possess broad knowledge of research methodologies, such as life cycle analysis.
- Be able to assess sources for their reliability.
- Knowledge of ecotoxicity and/or (drinking) water is a plus.

- Able to work project-based and results-oriented within available resources.
- Collegial and communicative, able to collaborate well with colleagues.
- Service-oriented, accustomed to working in projects with both internal and external partners and parties.
