Day Care Team Manager

A social organization is looking for a team manager for the day care center. At the day care center, people with diverse support needs come together, sometimes requiring a listening ear and sometimes clarity and boundaries. You will lead a team of professionals and volunteers who are committed to the visitors.

What you will do.

• Lead the team and ensure clarity, structure, and fixed routines in daily operations.
• Be present on the work floor and assist when the situation demands it, for example, during an incident, a difficult conversation with a visitor, or when an employee needs aftercare.
• Help employees remain calm and de-escalate situations when visitors display threatening or unpredictable behavior.
• Establish the annual plan, monitor progress, and be responsible for business operations and administrative processes.
• Maintain contacts with relevant internal and external partners and collaborate closely with the volunteer coordinator, regional manager, and fellow team managers.
• Guide the team through a relocation to a new site and be mindful of what this means for employees and daily practice.
• Easily switch between the work floor, consultations with collaboration partners, and discussions at the organizational level, keeping the bigger picture in mind without losing sight of daily practice.
• Prioritize effectively, knowing what requires immediate attention and what can wait. Even when many things happen simultaneously, remain calm, make choices, and ensure agreements and goals stay in focus.
• Take ownership: identify what is needed, take action, and feel responsible for progress and results.
