As a Contact Supervisor, you help children and parents reconnect. You provide calm, truly focus on the child, and help parent and child gradually rebuild contact. A meaningful and challenging role where your guidance makes a direct difference.
What you do
- You play an important role in restoring and strengthening contact between parents and their children.
- You guide parents and children during contact moments and ensure a safe, calm, and pleasant environment.
- You observe the contact between parent and child and provide tailored support where necessary.
- You connect with the child in a sensitive and professional manner, can switch quickly, and are not deterred by resistant parents.
- You work with different age groups, from young children in the morning to older children in the afternoon.
- Contact sessions take place in a group setting, with a maximum of four parent-child contacts supervised simultaneously.
- You collaborate closely with other contact supervisors, parental mediators, behavioral scientists, and other involved professionals.
- The trajectory consists of 8 supervised contact sessions at a specialized institution, optionally two external sessions (ambulatory guidance), and individual child interviews.
- Where appropriate, you participate in discussions with parents and represent the child's voice.
- You contribute to the planning of the trajectory and prepare reports.
Profile
- HBO (higher professional education) work and thinking level and a completed degree in (youth) care, for example Social Work (Youth profile), SPH, MWD, or Pedagogy.
- SKJ-registered.
- Affinity with children and young people and the ability to put the child first.
- Sensitive, a good listener, able to connect and build rapport, and preferably experienced with complex separations.
- Verbally and communicatively strong, able to remain calm and de-escalate in tense or emotional situations.
- Resilient, stress-resistant, and able to recognize, manage, and discuss your own boundaries within the team.
- Open to feedback from colleagues.
- Flexible, enthusiastic, and a true go-getter.
- Able to combine professional involvement with sufficient distance, so you can let go of situations and not take work home.
Practical
- You are available at least on Tuesdays and Wednesdays for contact days.
