We are looking for an experienced Automation Project Engineer for a leading manufacturing company. As multiple investment projects simultaneously enter the execution phase, a client is looking for an engineer who can start immediately, take responsibility for automation packages, and successfully bring them to startup. This is not a pure PLC programming role. Most of your time will be spent coordinating machine builders and system integrators, reviewing technical deliverables, and supporting commissioning.
Programming skills are valued for troubleshooting and technical credibility, rather than for daily development.
What you will do.
- Ownership of the automation scope within investment projects, from design to startup
- Managing and coordinating machine builders, system integrators
- Reviewing designs and technical deliverables against engineering standards
- Reviewing the electrical scope, including electrical diagrams and cabinet designs
- Leading and supporting FAT, SAT, commissioning
- Hands-on support for troubleshooting where necessary
- Ensuring compliance with machine safety requirements and internal standards
- Working closely with multidisciplinary project teams
Profile
- Experienced automation engineer with a proven track record in delivering investment projects in production environments
- Strong experience with Rockwell (preferably) or Siemens PLCs; both are a plus
- Solid background in project engineering
- Demonstrable experience in managing machine builders and suppliers
- Hands-on experience with FAT, SAT, commissioning
- Good electrical knowledge, including reading electrical diagrams and assessing the electrical scope; this is essential, as automation and electricity fall within one engineering team
- Thorough knowledge of machine safety
- Broad experience in OT / industrial automation and insight into the complete delivery of machines
- Able to work independently with minimal onboarding
