As a Socio-Pedagogical Worker, you provide a warm welcome to participants and contribute to peace and recovery in a shelter location. You receive people who temporarily have no place to sleep and offer them a safe living environment. You keep a clear overview in busy situations and easily make contact with participants. You guide people with various problems and contribute to an environment where everyone feels seen.
The location offers temporary shelter to vulnerable individuals, such as women in vulnerable situations, LHBTIQ+ individuals, the elderly, and people with a mild intellectual disability (MID) who temporarily lack their own housing. The stay is focused on peace, safety, and stability, with the goal of a quick transition to suitable, permanent housing. Only participants without addiction problems or disruptive behavior stay here.
A safe place is provided with basic facilities and light personal guidance, tailored to the needs of the participant.
What you do
- You guide residents on social, emotional, and practical levels
- You detect tensions early and de-escalate them in a calm, tactful manner
- You maintain an overview of the group and ensure a stable living environment
- You work closely with colleagues and external care providers
- You work recovery-oriented and create a safe, stimulating environment
What they ask
- You have an mbo-4 diploma in social work or healthcare
- You have an affinity with the target group and can interact well with people facing various issues
- You are stress-resistant, professional, and always maintain a clear and transparent attitude
- You speak at least Dutch and English
- You are flexibly deployable within the duty roster
- You are a Christian (Catholic, Protestant, or other) and can explain what this means to you
