Innovation Manager
You are looking for a challenging job in a dynamic and operational environment, where you directly contribute to peace and security. You work closely with the operational units of a government organization on innovations and are skilled in organizing, entrepreneurship, and showing initiative. Innovation is essential, and an innovation manager is sought with an entrepreneurial and progressive mindset who can successfully organize and guide innovation trajectories within the operational units. This means working independently, having direct contact with operational units, and bringing innovations from idea to experiment and application.
What you will do. As an innovation manager, you will lead various innovation projects for a maritime organization.
- Guiding and supporting innovation and Concept Development & Experimentation (CD&E) projects
- Guides concept developers in applying established CD&E processes, formats, guidelines, and methodologies.
- Supports project teams in problem analyses, concept development, iterative development cycles, experimental design, and results processing.
- Prepares innovation and CD&E proposals for the Group Commander Operational Units in consultation with initiators and advises on feasibility, prioritization, and coherence.
- Plans innovation and CD&E projects within available personnel and financial capacity and monitors progress, quality, dependencies, and risks.
- Contributes to reports, decision preparation, and transfer to implementing or decision-making bodies.
- Content analysis and conceptual advice
- Conducts content analyses of relevant technological and conceptual developments.
- Connects innovation and CD&E projects to strategic roadmaps, capacity needs, and developments within the maritime organization and the broader government organization.
- Advises managers, project teams, and stakeholders at a tactical/operational level on conceptual choices and solution directions.
- Networking, representation, and environmental analysis
- Initiates and maintains (inter)national contacts with policymakers, operational users, knowledge institutions, industry, and innovation networks on behalf of the manager.
- Advises stakeholders on innovation and CD&E developments and their implications for policy, concepts, and future capabilities.
Profile
- You possess Dutch nationality.
- You have a relevant HBO education.
- Project management certification is a plus, preferably PRINCE2.
- Experience with project-based work and preferably with Innovation, Concept Development & Experimentation (CD&E) or organizational change.
- Experience with the dynamics of operational units within a government organization is a plus.
- Experience in the field of autonomy, unmanned systems, communication systems, and electronic warfare or edge AI is a plus.
