Information Centre Trainee

A European organization is looking for motivated, qualified recent graduates or students who are interested in gaining experience and contributing to the organization's work for patients in Europe.

• The purpose of a traineeship is to perform tasks that are predominantly in the interest of the trainee’s training and principally serve to increase the trainee’s knowledge and to gain relevant experience.
• This traineeship is within the Information Centre (library).

What you will do.

• Analyze how the landscape of scientific publishing is evolving and what this means for accessing and using medical and health-related information.
• Explore how information retrieval practices can be improved to strengthen digital scientific literacy across the organization.
• Further progress the ongoing investigation into emerging methods and technologies—particularly AI-enabled tools—that support more efficient discovery, interpretation, and use of scientific literature.
• Identify opportunities to enhance how the organization's staff navigate an increasingly complex information environment.
• Contribute to enhancing the visibility and strategic positioning of the InfoCentre.
• Support the roll-out of new elements of the InfoCentre strategy.
• Help communicate its services more effectively.
• Identify opportunities to strengthen engagement with staff across the organization.
• Help shape how the InfoCentre responds to a shifting scientific information environment, promotes digital scientific literacy, and continues to evolve its role as a key knowledge hub within the organization.

What they ask

• Enjoy full rights as a citizen of a European Union Member State or Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway.
• Possess a relevant university degree (minimum of three years or more) in Library and Information Science or similar, that must have been obtained between 30 September 2025 and 30 September 2026, OR be a university student on an Erasmus+ or a similar program, OR a PhD student or a Master's student with a previous fully finished degree in the areas mentioned before.
• A thorough knowledge of English (at least level C1) and good knowledge of another official EU language (at least B2) of the Common European Framework for Languages.
