Fundraiser

A cultural organization is looking for a fundraiser for an annual festival. The festival attracts over 12,000 visitors annually and generates approximately 40% of its own income from ticket sales and catering. For the period 2027-2030, the focus is on consolidation and a healthy, stable organization. In 2027, a new triptych (2027-2029) will begin with the themes (In)equality, Community, and The Shared World.

What you will do.

  • Responsible for public and private funds, sponsorship and collaborations with companies, and donations from individuals who support the festival.
  • Develops a coverage strategy under a multi-year artistic direction.
  • Works with a detailed project plan for 2027-2030 and a multi-year grant from a municipality.
  • Maintains stable relationships with national and private funds.
  • Focuses in the first years on annual project subsidies, based on the overarching project plan.
  • Collaborates closely with the curator for artistic content and with the director-manager for direction and financial frameworks.
  • Encompasses the full cycle: gathering input from team members and artists, submitting applications, and accounting for allocated funds.
  • Develops propositions for sponsorship and donations, establishes contacts, and ensures promises are met, while preserving artistic integrity.

  • Continuously liaises with the director-manager, artistic director, curator, producer, and marketing team.

Profile

  • Demonstrable experience with fundraising in the cultural sector, preferably in the field of media art, digital culture, and/or visual arts.
  • Knowledge of the Dutch funding landscape: public funds, private funds, municipal and provincial schemes.
  • Experience with sponsorship acquisition or business acquisition, or the demonstrable ability to take that step.
  • Experience with private donations, donor programs, or crowdfunding is a plus.
  • Affinity with media art, nature, and science.
  • Accurate, independent, able to work with tight deadlines, and results-oriented.

Practical

  • An independent key role in a festival with a distinct artistic signature and a clear multi-year direction.
  • Works with a small, experienced team and has direct lines to the director-manager.
  • Contributes to the financial foundation for the next period.
  • Is given the freedom to largely shape the sponsorship and donation side.
  • The organization strives for a balanced staff composition and takes diversity into account in the selection procedure.
