For a residential group within a care organization, an enthusiastic and driven support worker is sought. Together with colleagues, you provide daily support and tailored care to adults with an intellectual disability.
What you do
- You support and care for ten adult men with a moderate to severe intellectual disability with additional physical or psychological support needs.
- You are responsible for nursing care actions such as washing, dressing, toilet visits, and meal management.
- You ensure a meaningful daily routine for the individuals and alternate individual moments with group activities.
- You consult and dialogue with the network of the individuals.
- You ensure a good handover, both verbally and in writing, with colleagues.
- You use the computer to record observations, send emails, and place orders.
Profile
- You have insight into the target group and communicate in a tailored manner.
- You do not shy away from difficult behavior but try to contextualize it and seek its meaning.
- You actively participate, together with colleagues, and implement agreed-upon arrangements.
- You work independently, take initiative, and assume responsibility.
- You can handle stressful situations in daily operations. You see change as a challenge and a process.
- You are open to discussing your own functioning and procedures. Giving and receiving feedback is in your DNA.
- You are willing to become familiar with and act according to the philosophy of socio-emotional development.
- A specific diploma is an asset, but other relevant qualifications are also considered.
Practical
- Contract for 1 year with a real chance of extension after positive evaluation.
- Remuneration according to sector scales (joint committee 319).
- Service schedule includes early, day, and late shifts, including weekend shifts.
