As a laboratory assistant, you process plankton samples collected during research voyages at sea.
- The samples consist of fish eggs, larvae, and fish gonads.
- You accurately process the results of these analyses in data templates and using specific software.
- You collaborate with a research team of specialists on the successful execution of projects within a leading, independent research institute focused on strategic and applied marine ecological research.
- The institute carries out diverse projects: field research, realistic-scale experiments, exploratory laboratory-scale studies, data management, and modeling.
What you do
- Sorting and analyzing samples, including through microscopy and image analysis.
- Preparing histological specimens.
- Recording and entering data and processing results.
What they ask
- Completed MBO-4 education (candidates with an academic background are excluded).
- Interest in working with the smallest organisms in the sea.
- Demonstrable affinity for microscopic work.
- Proficiency in Dutch (minimum B2 level).
- Laboratory experience (a plus).
- Proficiency in English (A2 level) (a plus).
