- The environmental and spatial planning policy forms the basis for all choices in the living environment via the Environmental Vision, Environmental Ordinance, and programs.
- Legal knowledge is essential to translate strategic ambitions into clear rules.
- Bringing coherence and guiding the political-administrative process within the Environmental and Spatial Planning Policy coordination point.
What you will do.
- Address complex and sensitive issues.
- Proactively advise on new projects, instruments, and the consequences of changes in the Environmental and Planning Act.
- Collaborate with colleagues from various content teams on updates to the Environmental Ordinance.
- Clearly and plainly explain legally complex situations to colleagues and administrators.
- Advise on regulations (Environmental Ordinance) and the deployment of instruments for the entire physical living environment (Environmental Vision and programs) from the evolving role of the organization.
- Translate policy ambitions into rules, together with other lawyers and policy officers.
- Advise on the use of instruments such as a preparatory decision, amendment to the Delegation Decision, and project decision.
- Challenge colleagues to think about achieving ambitions and the role of (de)regulation therein.
- Map the impact of changing legislation and developments in the Digital Environmental and Planning System (DSO).
Profile
- Enthusiastic and curious lawyer with an open perspective.
- Strong communication skills and a pragmatic approach to explain complex legal matters understandably.
- A true connector who easily networks, collaborates, and is attentive to conflicting interests.
- Experience in a political environment to advise administrators and management with a keen sense of relationships.
- Work very carefully and organized, be proactive, and a true go-getter to achieve results.
What they ask
- Completed university degree (WO), preferably in environmental and spatial planning law.
- Thorough knowledge of the administrative-legal system for the living environment and experience with the Environmental Desk and associated software.
- Extensive experience in drafting practical legal rules, policy documents, and administrative advice.
- Demonstrable experience with independent advising in official and administrative consultations within a government organization.
