Software Metrics Officer
The Software Metrics Officer is responsible for designing, delivering, and optimizing reporting frameworks that provide actionable insights across software engineering projects, programs, and services within an application management department. This role ensures accurate data collection, analysis, and reporting to monitor team and/or project performance, trends, compliance, technology obsolescence risk, and cost optimization.
By collaborating with cross-functional teams, this position drives data-informed decision-making and continuous improvement in utilization and software engineering processes.
What you will do.
- Develop and maintain dashboards and reports that provide visibility into lifecycle stages, utilization, costs, and compliance.
- Build custom analytics and reporting solutions to track asset health, performance, and lifecycle status across projects, programs, and services.
- Ensure consistent reporting formats and standards for both traditional and agile ways of working to align with organizational goals.
- Define, track, and report key performance indicators (KPIs), including metrics like cost efficiency, compliance rates, lifecycle milestones, and utilization.
- Analyze development and maintenance trends to identify risks, opportunities, and inefficiencies.
- Create predictive models to forecast and estimate needs and inform lifecycle planning strategies.
- Oversee data collection, validation, and integrity across supporting systems and tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps, SonarQube, CAST).
- Work with teams to integrate data from multiple sources and ensure a unified reporting environment.
- Optimize (pipeline) tools to improve reporting capabilities and automate repetitive reporting tasks.

Certifications.
- Agile/Scrum foundation (PSM1 or similar).
- DevOps Fundamental (DASA or similar).
- ITIL Foundation Certification.
- PrinceII foundation.
- IPFUG Certified Function Point specialist (CFPS).
Technical skills.
- Proficiency in Jira and/or Azure DevOps.
- Proficiency in reporting and visualization tools.
- Experience with predictive analytics and lifecycle modeling is a plus.
Profile
- Analytical and detail-oriented, with strong problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, able to explain technical insights to non-technical stakeholders.
