As a 112 centralist, you are the first point of contact for citizens in distress. You receive calls at a national center and quickly determine which emergency service (Police, Fire Department, or Ambulance) and region are needed. You assess the urgency and transfer the caller to the correct emergency service or refer them to the general information number if there is no emergency.

What you will do.

  • As a 112 centralist, you are the first point of contact for citizens in distress.
  • You receive (sometimes intense) calls and quickly determine which emergency service and region are needed.
  • You assess whether there is an emergency.
  • In case of an emergency, you connect the caller to the correct emergency service in the right region.
  • If there is no emergency, you refer the caller to the general information number.
  • You process urgent reports for the animal welfare hotline.
  • You manage the national crime tip line, carefully inquiring about and recording tips.

Profile

You are a flexible team player who can easily switch between different tasks. You have an empathetic and helpful attitude. In a conversation, you know how to ask the right questions and never make assumptions. You are stress-resistant and aware that you may be confronted with emotional reports.

What they ask

  • VMBO/MBO 2 working and thinking level or equivalent via EVC, or at least two years of work experience at the requested level.
  • Basic knowledge of English and German.
  • Own transportation is practical given the irregular working hours (until 02:00 or starting at 06:30).
