Behavioral Scientist Youth Care

• Bear substantive responsibility for the care of young people.
• Together with the department coordinator, provide direction and substantive leadership to the groups.
• Ensure a safe and pedagogical living environment.
• Be the substantive pivot in guiding young people with complex issues.
• Activities include:
• Diagnosing and drawing up treatment plans, and evaluating progress.
• Monitoring and coordinating the implementation of care, providing interventions, and adjusting where necessary.
• Coaching pedagogical staff and stimulating their professional development.
• Maintaining contact with parents, schools, municipalities, and chain partners for an integrated approach.
• Identifying and acting in crisis situations, and drawing up a crisis care plan.
• Providing input for policy, methodology development, and annual plans.
• Ensuring a carefully maintained file and reporting on progress and results.

What they ask

• An academic degree, such as orthopedagogy or developmental psychology.
• A current SKJ registration.
• (Extensive) relevant experience as a behavioral scientist in youth care, including experience with bearing treatment responsibility for clients.
• Self-knowledge and self-confidence to manage your own boundaries and provide substantive direction to the treatment process.
• Flexible, enthusiastic attitude with a good sense of humor.
• The ability to think broadly, always prioritizing the interests of young people.
• Social skills to clarify the care demand and set boundaries, without losing sight of the personal responsibility of the youth and their network.
